Hilary and Andrew chose to have their destination wedding in the Big-Easy on October 1st of this year. The Hotel Mazirin has become one of the beloved locations for wedding ceremonies by many in the wedding industry this year. It is a great spot for mid-day ceremonies when you want to have beautiful natural light but avoid the harsh light of the noon sun. The tall central courtyard produces perfect mid-day shade. Hilary and Andrew started off their day in a traditional shotgun style home in the warehouse district of the city. After getting ready on separate floors, the couple and their wedding party headed out to city park, which is best know for its beautiful hanging Spanish moss. We loved shooting their first look, the surprise and joy on Andrew's face was priceless! We then had fun shooting formal and informal groups of the bridesmaids, groomsmen, and the soon to be newlyweds. Hilary's girls were non-stop with laughter and really made the day fun for everyone.
Afterwards we all headed to the Hotel Mazrin in the French Quarter for a beautiful courtyard ceremony followed by a reception also at the Mazrin. The space was styled perfectly by the Uber-talented Satchel Planning and Design. During the reception guests were treated to some of the most heart-felt toasts we've had the pleasure of hearing, The dance floor was then flooded by joy, laughter, and an amazing crowd of dancing! (I think someone may have even done the worm but can't confirm or deny that at this point ;) ) We really enjoyed being a part of Hilary and Andrew's big day. After sending Hilary and Andrew their final gallery they sent us the sweetest e-mail, "I knew they were going to be great, but we are truly thrilled with them. I have gone through them about 8 times today and had gotten zero work done today." I hope you enjoy some of our favorites from their wedding day.
